In September, there were more than 15,000 new corona infections in Austria. With 8,024 cases, Vienna had the highest number of infections.
More than 15,000 cases of new coronavirus infections occurred in Austria in September. According to statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, 15,373 positive results were found in a total of 438,276 tests carried out that month. Most of them in Vienna with 8,024 cases, which is 46 percent of the total.

Positive tests from the other federal states: Burgenland 317 (two percent), Carinthia 272 (two percent), Lower Austria 751 (16 percent), Upper Austria 1,883 (eleven percent), Styria 1,057 (six percent) , Tirol 1,747 (ten percent), Salzburg 535 (three percent), Vorarlberg 787 (four percent).

By far the majority of the tests were conducted in Vienna, or 146,043 times, which in turn accounted for 34 percent of all tests.
