Floods after days of heavy rain

Due to persistent flooding after days of heavy rain on Australia’s east coast, thousands more people must be evacuated in the metropolis of Sydney, according to authorities. “These are very, very severe and very severe storms and floods, and we are dealing with a very complex weather system, it is putting us to the test,” Prime Minister Scott Morrison told “2GB” radio station on Monday.
A flood warning has been issued for much of the most populous state of New South Wales and neighboring Queensland. Rapid floods sometimes ripped away homes and cars and cut off important transportation connections, as shown on television and on social media.
According to meteorologists, heavy rains are likely to continue through Wednesday. The weather is also likely to cause delays in delivery of the corona vaccine to the region.
