Transport Minister Leonore Gewessler last tested negative for the corona virus. At the moment, the department head continues to work from home.

The result of the corona test carried out by the Minister of Infrastructure and Climate Protection, Leonore Gewessler (Greens), is negative, her office informed the APA on Tuesday night. The next steps will now be decided in the course of tomorrow, Wednesday in consultation with the health authorities. Until a decision is made, the minister works from home and does not attend any appointments, her spokesperson said.

Gewessler has been in quarantine since Tuesday

Gewessler went into self-isolation on Tuesday because he had contact with a potentially corona-infected person and thus was a potential person K (ontakt) 1. Corona tests had been conducted in a row in the government setting since Monday because a close employee of the Chancellor was infected. The result was also a positive result for a Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) employee who is Secretary of State in the infrastructure department run by Gewessler.
