According to a media report, FPÖ MP Christian Hafenecker is said to have been informed on Saturday after a meeting at an inn in Kaumberg (Lilienfeld district) under the Covid-19 Measures Act. The police broke up a meeting of nine people and reported all the participants. The Lower Austrian state police department confirmed such an incident, but it was not possible to say who was involved.
FPÖ General Secretary Michael Schnedlitz spoke on Sunday of an incident related to a “pickup by FPÖ MP Hafenecker at an inn in his home community in Lower Austria”. Hafenecker regrets “not having fully complied with the applicable regulations.” The matter is made for the FPÖ.
If Hafenecker, who according to the media report had ordered a beer, a pea soup and a schnitzel, were punished, he would check the legal basis for it. This is also recommended to all “who are asked to make payments due to highly questionable constitutional regulations,” Schnedlitz said.
