The computer system, with which there were problems registering, had worked, Upper Austrian military commander Dieter Muhr said at a press conference in Linz on Sunday afternoon. 56 infections were found at 3:30 pm This corresponds to a 0.27 percent share.

On Saturday, 13,898 people were tested, 37 (0.27 percent) tested positive. On Sunday 7,123 people arrived at 3:30 pm, 19 of whom tested positive (again 0.27 percent), making a total of 21,603 people and 56 infected on Sunday afternoon. Muhr said more people were registered during the hours remaining until evening. The forecast is that the total will be around 27,500. That would correspond to a rate of 68 percent. Capacity was set at 72 percent.

In general, the military commander drew a very positive balance: kindergarten teachers “were not dissuaded” by problems with enrollment. Those who had appointments also showed up, everything was very disciplined. It was also positive that the IT system was maintained. Because this ensures that test subjects are automatically informed of their results via a link. If he had failed, he would have had to call again, which would have taken a lot of effort. In general, it could have achieved a greater influx, always on the condition that the computer system cooperates.

Since the registration system was temporarily open not only to education sector personnel, but to everyone due to an IT breakdown beforehand, it is not known exactly whether all those evaluated actually belonged to the target group. It is assumed, however, that it was primarily school and kindergarten staff, according to Muhr.

LH Deputy Health Officer Christine Haberlander (ÖVP) was also very pleased with the course of testing and the number of participants on Sunday afternoon. “Also, we were able to learn a lot from this teacher test, with all its complications and our solutions for the next massive tests next weekend.” The systems have been shown to be sustainable and that everyone must work well together to master this bear task. If an IT system collapses, regardless of whether it is ultimately a federal or state system, the state must be armed with a plan B.
