A former BVT department head is said to have worked for a company that was closely linked to Wirecard and rented the Marsalek villa. W. was one of the last people the former Wirecard board member met before fleeing.
Former Wirecard board member Jan Marsalek shouldn’t be a spy. Or at least he shouldn’t have spied for Austria in Germany. At least that is what the German Federal Prosecutor General believes and does not want to continue with this accusation, according to a questionnaire sent to the German left in the “press”. There is no indication of the former head of the Department of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and the Fight against Terrorism (BVT) W.
Research by the “press” reveals that the two have known each other since 2017 and that they had closer business relationships in the past.
So closely that according to an investigation by “Presse” and “Spiegel”, W. worked for a company that was closely intertwined with Wirecard and Marsalek: IMS Capital. The director of IMS Capital is Marsalek’s business friend Alexander V., an expert in all trades on the startup scene who was also active in Austria. He shouldn’t have played a negligible role in the Wirecard scandal. Marsalek is said to have mediated with former intelligence officer W. He is said to have overseen foreign investment and IMS projects. Wirecard had given some of them to IMS. The company fed on millionaire loans.
