After 50 years together, Cathy and Johnny died almost simultaneously, holding hands.
Cathy Darlene (65) and Johnny Lee Peoples (67) from the US state of North Carolina were a couple for 50 years. After 48 years of marriage, the couple died almost simultaneously and holding hands with Corona.
Shane Peoples, the couple’s son, tells CNN how both his parents got Corona in early August. I first found Cathy, two days later Johnny showed the first symptoms. They both tested positive for Corona, “two weeks later they both arrived in the intensive care unit.” The situation deteriorated more and more, “everything went down the drain,” said the son.
Couple died just 4 minutes apart
The two Americans battled the virus for another 30 days, but in the end to no avail. They wanted to spend their last moments together, the doctors moved them to a common room. “They took him to the same intensive care room, put their hands together.” Cathy and Johnny Lee died just four minutes apart. “They died hand in hand and went to heaven hand in hand,” said her son.
Shane is now asking Facebook to take the virus seriously. “We were betrayed. Mom and Dad’s lives were stolen by a virus that many joke about every day or just think it’s a joke. “
