A stranger calmly walked towards the police car and suddenly opened fire.

It’s Saturday night around 7pm at the Compton crime hotspot in Los Angeles. Two policemen are sitting in their patrol car. Suddenly, a man walks very calmly towards the car, pulls out a pistol and shoots the two officers. A 31-year-old policewoman and her 24-year-old colleague sit in the car. Both were riddled with bullets, but survived the freeze attack. However, their lives are in danger.

The two of them hadn’t been on duty for long. They finished their training just over a year ago. The 31-year-old woman is also said to be the mother of a six-year-old boy. The perpetrator fled the scene. Now they are looking for it under high pressure.

Now the mood in Compton burns even hotter. The situation was already tense. Because according to the report, it is said that a criminal gang was formed within the authority of the bailiff. Sheriff Alex Villanueva quickly opened an investigation. But the wave of anger does not want to end. Shortly after the attack on the police, dozens of protesters gathered in front of the hospital where the victims were being treated and some shouted: “We hope they die!”

The police responded immediately: “To the protesters who are blocking access to the emergency room, shouting: ‘We hope they die’, do not block the entrances. Lives are at stake if ambulances cannot get through.” Villanueva is concerned: “Our work is not getting easier because people don’t like us. It makes me angry, it makes me angry.”

The attack on the police is causing a stir in the United States and is another escalation. US President Donald Trump was also angry. He tweeted, “Animals to hit hard.” And further: “If they (the two policemen, editor’s note) die, the short process is the death penalty for the murderer. The only way to stop him.” He also asked his followers to pray for the victims and added the hashtag #BlueLivesMatter to the tweet, a movement against the “Black Lives Matter” movement, which advocates a stronger punishment for violence against police officers.

During the numerous deadly attacks on African American civilians and the debate surrounding rampant police violence in the United States, Trump never took such a clear position. He did not side with the many victims, calling George Floyd, Breonna Taylor & Co., and instead defended the executive.
