A 28-year-old from the Kirchdorf district filed a complaint Sunday at 10:40 p.m. that her 33-year-old husband may have taken a mountain hike in the surrounding mountains in the morning because he could not find his backpack and hiking boots. A tracking search with police dogs confirmed the alleged whereabouts in the surrounding alpine terrain. So it was decided to interrupt the search and continue it from 6 am on Monday.
Since the morning hours, officials from AEG Kirchdorf, FRG Grünau, Steyrling and Kremstal, search dogs of the police and FRG, as well as local fire departments, have been searching for the 33-year-old. A flight police support had to be canceled after a while due to the weather.
The alleged route could be determined on the basis of entries made by the detainee in the summit books of the surrounding peaks and interviews with witnesses. The mountaineer made his last entry into the Kremsmauer, on the municipal boundary between Micheldorf and Klaus an der Pyhrnbahn.
