The hard “lock” follows the soft. In view of the continued increase in the crown number, the government announced stricter measures on Saturday. We report live throughout the day and show all press conferences via live streaming.

Today, Saturday, the government is taking action due to the increasing number of new coronavirus infections. Afterwards, the catering business will probably also have to close on Tuesday. It is quite possible that schools will also convert to learning at home and that only emergency care is available in kindergartens. All of this will apply until shortly before the Marian feast of December 8. The measures will be announced on Saturday afternoon by the usual quartet of Chancellor and Minister of Health.

The “hard” lockdown will be announced on Saturday

The “lock” should be similar to spring. Because the exit restrictions already in force at night will be extended to the whole day. This means that you can only leave the house if there is a good reason to do so, such as going to work, visiting family, going for a walk or shopping. Of course, this will also be limited to grocery stores, pharmacies, drugstores, and tobacconists. Banks and post offices are also open. Another breach threatens personal service providers, for example beauticians.

All the press conferences on the corona measures live

The presentation scenario chosen by the government seems that at noon the managing director of Health Austria Herwig Ostermann and the president of the Austrian Society of Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine Klaus Markstaller report on the threatening situation in Austrian hospitals.

Kurz, Kogler, Anschober and Nehammer from 4.30pm.

Starting at 4.30 pm, things will get serious when Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP), Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler, Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (both Greens) and Interior Minister Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) present the new ” blocking”. Finally, in the early afternoon, Ministers Gernot Blümel (finance), Heinz Faßmann (education) and Christine Aschbacher (work / all ÖVP) will go into detail. Among other things, there will be compensation for trade, which should be limited to 40 percent of the loss on sales.
