The measures will come into effect on Monday (September 21, midnight), according to the federal government, social contacts should be further restricted throughout Austria:

- The 1:00 am curfew will also apply to closed events in the future

- In markets and fairs it will be mandatory to wear mouth and nose protection outdoors.
According to Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, the goal is to avoid a second blockade.
