The red-rose coalition in Vienna City Hall will be sealed and officially unveiled on Tuesday evening. The mayor and the chairman of the state party SPÖ, Michael Ludwig, will hold a joint press conference with the head of NEOS, Christoph Wiederkehr, we will report from 7 pm via live broadcast.

The first cornerstones of the coalition have already been presented in Vienna

The key points of the agreement were presented on Monday. Investments in the labor market and education were announced. Small and medium-sized enterprises will be supported and the “50plus labor offensive” will be further expanded.

In the school sector, in addition to the expansion of full-day locations, an increase in staff is promised. The number of school psychologists will be increased and additional administrative staff will be supported in each compulsory school in Vienna.

In addition, there should be a climate protection law defining objectives and bodies. For example, it is planned to reduce CO2 emissions in the transport sector in more than 50 producers by 2030.

Rot-Pink also intends to expand primary care centers in the health sector and build 1,500 new community apartments. The allocation guidelines will also be modified so that, as stated in a document presented today, Viennese who most urgently need a subsidized apartment “can get it as soon as possible”.

In terms of transparency, it was emphasized that they wanted to expand the control rights of the municipal council and the city audit office in the area of party finances. Currently these cannot be examined by the Court of Auditors.
