On Wednesday, Health Minister Rudolf Anschober presented a new crown test strategy. Family doctors should be able to test for antigens in the future. We will report on the press conference via live broadcast starting at 12 noon.
Health Minister Rudi Anschober presents the updated testing strategy to contain the coronavirus, as well as the framework conditions for tests carried out by Austrian family doctors.
Dr. Susanne Rabady, Vice President of the Austrian Society for General Medicine and Dr. Wolfgang Mückstein, Director of the Mariahilf Center for Primary Care Medicine, present recommendations for general practitioners and report on initial experiences with antigen testing.
Rapid antigen tests were used as a trial in Vienna
Rapid antigen tests, which have already been used as a test in Vienna, are now also included in the revised version of the “Austrian SARS-CoV-2 Test Strategy”. Areas of application include testing of symptomatic persons in general offices, in hospital outpatient clinics, in schools, and in nursing homes and nursing homes. However, these tests do not replace the conventional PCR test.
