The “OÖ Regional-Stadtbahn” functions as a supra-regional connecting line connecting the regions and the state capital, while the trolleybus line from the city center ensures optimal transfer situations to other hubs. S6 dies
In the future, the S6 Mühlkreisbahn will run from the Mühlkreisbahnhof in Urfahr through the Urfahr Ost local traffic junction at the Lindbauer Inn and will cross the Danube on the new railway bridge that has now been assembled. The Donaulände / Hafenstrasse will be crossed at a flyover before the route continues underground. The Kepler Uniklinikum and Europaplatz stops approach underground before the new “OÖ Regional-Stadtbahn” route reappears and is integrated into the existing ÖBB rail network.
The S7
The S7 in the direction of Gallneukirchen runs along the Donaudamm before joining the Urfahr Ost junction along the same route as the S6. The Urfahr-Ost local transport hub in a central mobility base where Upper Austria’s regional light rail vehicles, trams and trolleybuses are located. This also leads to numerous connection options for future passengers.
Linz-Frankviertel node
Another mobility center will be built at the new “Linz Franckviertel” S-Bahn station. The high-performance transfer point between the S-Bahn lines S1 and S3 is efficiently connected to the local urban transport of the trolleybus hub.
