A Linz couple, a 91-year-old man and his wife, were found last Sunday in the sauna of their second home in Tormafölde, Hungary.
The Austrian Foreign Ministry confirmed the deaths of the two on Thursday afternoon. Relatives are in contact with the embassy in Budapest.
According to the Kronenzeitung, the daughter had been informed that her parents had been found dead on the floor of their sauna. Consequently, the cause of death is not yet clear. An autopsy was ordered. The couple is believed to have died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning. External influence is excluded in any case.
