Three girls ran out of a window in a week. A four year old boy died.
Vienna. Thursday was a happy day for Muslims in the city. In the evening, many gathered to start Ramadan to traditionally celebrate together for the last time before Lent. The night ended in disaster for a Pakistani family from Vienna-Liesing. Her four-year-old girl crashed out of the window, died instantly, was the third terrible lintel accident in just a week.
The drama occurred around 8:30 p.m. In the apartment on staircase 33 in the Basler Gasse 50–66 municipal building, several relatives of the hosts became eyewitnesses when the family’s four-year-old girl leaned against the window. “The window was ajar,” said police spokesman Paul Eidenberger. He came out, the boy fell about 20 meters from the sixth floor. One of the witnesses (3) had unsuccessfully tried to hug the girl.

The four-year-old boy hit the concrete in front of the front door of the community building. Rescue teams had tried to resuscitate the girl, without success.
The lintel of the four-year-old boy in Liesing was the third in a week in Vienna. On Thursday of the previous week, a seven-year-old boy was seriously injured in Vienna-Waehring. The girl and her two younger brothers were alone in the apartment while the parents were shopping. The apartment was closed, the boy tried to follow his parents through the window. After the fall, the seven-year-old boy went into an artificial coma. It is now under repair.
It was only Wednesday that a two-year-old woman in Vienna-Penzing was seriously injured on a lintel from the first floor of the Hugo-Breitner-Hof near the Rapid stadium in Hütteldorf.
While the mother cared for two younger siblings, the girl had climbed onto a windowsill to look out onto the patio. Along with an attached mosquito net, it collapsed.
