LH Stelzer is convinced: “Step by step we are rolling back the virus and little by little we are recovering our old and familiar life.”
Linz (OTS) – “This year is extraordinary and very stressful. The corona virus poses great challenges to our country and our society every day: health, economic and personal. And now, unfortunately, another difficult step is necessary and a difficult moment awaits us: another moment of strong resignation. Of course that’s unpleasant, there’s nothing to overlook. But the measures of the federal government are necessary so that we can keep the contagion process under control “, Governor Thomas Stelzer emphasizes.
The governor is aware that “these measures are not popular.” But in Austria, the number of infections would increase dramatically, sometimes explode. Austria must also look to its neighboring countries to avoid the situation of having to close when others can re-unlock.
But also in Austria daily new infections and deaths are still too high, so the governor: “We have seen how fast it can go and how quickly the capacities in intensive care units are reaching their limits. We absolutely have to avoid it. Our claim is and will continue to be that we can offer all compatriots the best possible medical care at all times. ”
“I ask all fellow citizens to adhere to protective measures during the Christmas period, to wear masks, to keep their distance, to get tested and to reduce contacts in general. We still have to bite for a few more weeks and months, but the reward for this commitment is great: step by step we are rolling back the virus and little by little we are recovering our old family life “, Governor Thomas Stelzer is convinced.
