Liverpool FC took the lead in the championship with a last-minute victory in the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur. Roberto Firmino made it 2-1 for the English soccer champions in the 90th minute.
After winning against 2,000 at Anfield Road, Liverpool are three points clear of José Mourinho’s Spurs. Tottenham, WAC’s rival in February’s Europa League, had previously played eleven league games without losing.
The Klopp-Elf was initially more powerful and went ahead thanks to Mohamed Salah and a bit of luck: a shot from the Egyptian was deflected and landed in the Spurs’ goal (26th). Seven minutes later, Heung-min Son tied for the guests’ first chance. After the break, Tottenham squandered their best chances through Steven Bergwijn (63./stange) and Liverpool through Sadio Mane (72./bar) before Firmino decided the match shortly before the end.
