The SPÖ sees a new large-scale poll in the 2020 Vienna elections 41 percent above the result of the 2015 elections, when social democrats reached almost 40 percent.
On behalf of ATV and “Heute,” Unique Research surveyed more than 1,600 people under the direction of opinion researcher Peter Hajek’s study (2.4 percent fluctuation range). These assign great benefits to the ÖVP. 20 percent would be more than double compared to the last election.

Third place would go to the Greens, who are 15 percent and therefore would also be among the election winners. The poll predicts a more than 30 percent drop in the determination of the Freedom Party, for which nine percent was raised. His former party leader Heinz-Christian Strache, with the HC list, would reach state parliament with 5 percent, although he only has a potential of 2 percent among the undecided. In the middle are NEOS at seven percent, which means they are roughly at the 2015 level.
When it comes to coalition preference, the picture is not clear. The most popular is the current red-green variant, at 28 percent, however, which is not outstanding. Turquoise red follows with 19 percent. Only 13 percent prefer the variant with ÖVP, Greens and NEOS, which is highly unlikely in view of the survey results.
Another poll with a significantly smaller sample (400 respondents) gave the SPÖ good marks among voters. In a study for the daily “Österreich”, “Research Affairs” rose 40 percent for the SPÖ and 21 percent for the ÖVP. The Greens are only 13 percent, the FPÖ twelve. The HC list also reached the required value for harvest at five percent.
