In the only community currently under quarantine in Austria, Kuchl in Tennengau (Hallein district) of Salzburg, the virus is still spreading. As of Monday, at 11:30 am, the health authorities reported 131 active cases, ten more than yesterday. According to AGES, the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants in the district increased to 513.5, which is still the highest value in Austria. The situation is also getting worse throughout the country: mainly in Pongau and Flachgau.
Tighter measures
The number of plays in the state has risen to 1.42, the doubling time is 15 days, the state announced Monday. Of the six districts of Salzburg, only the state capital has an incidence of less than 100. According to EMS, the number of actively infected people in the state of Salzburg was 1,120 cases in the late morning. There were also 158 people with positive test results who had not yet registered with EMS.
The first stricter measures in Kuchl have been in effect since October 13, the quarantine took place on October 17. For experts, the period since then has been too short for the measures taken by the state to have a measurable effect. In addition to the community of 7,450 people, Grossarl, St. Martin am Tennengebirge, Unken and Koppl were recently among the communities in the state with the strongest new growth in absolute numbers over the past week.
