On Thursday afternoon in Vienna-Floridsdorf, an unknown assailant with a knife seriously injured a 56-year-old man in the neck. Before that, there had apparently been an argument between the men at Schöpfleuthnergasse. The perpetrator fled and was not captured at the moment, police said.
Public transport stopped for a search in Vienna-Floridsdorf
Train traffic at the nearby Floridsdorf train station and other public transport were also stopped for an immediate search.
The victim was injured with a knife to the neck
The cause of the dispute around 2:15 p.m. was unclear, police spokeswoman Barbara Gass said. He was unable to confirm media reports that the victim and perpetrator were a nurse and patient from a psychosocial facility at the crime scene. The perpetrator was unknown, he emphasized. The victim was treated by the Vienna professional rescue service and transferred to a hospital in stable condition. The Vienna State Criminal Police Office, Northern Branch, took over the investigation.
