A Salzburg resident was found dead in an apartment in Klagenfurt on Friday after being away for two days. He was likely shot by a Carinthian, the prosecutor said in response to a request from the APA on Saturday.
There was no information yet on the exact course of events and motive, but the prosecution assumed it was “a deliberate act,” he said.
Salzburger found by mobile phone location
A mobile phone call revealed that the Salzburg resident was staying in Klagenfurt in a residential building in the Fischl district. During a home search, investigators discovered the body of the 39-year-old man. An autopsy revealed that the man had been shot, the prosecution confirmed.
Klagenfurt: possible perpetrators caught
A 37-year-old man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator, but initially there was no information on why. “We are assuming a dispute,” said a spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office. The victim was suspected of wanting to sell a gun to the Carinthian. It was not clear at the moment if this weapon would be used for shooting.
