SPÖ feels agitation

The SPÖ criticized the FPÖ special session for not addressing the issue. Instead, the focus should be on the current labor market crisis, for which the SPÖ is not only to blame for Corona, but also for the ÖVP and the Greens.

Club deputy chief Jörg Leichtfried tracked down a desperate attempt by the Freedom Party to re-score with agitation in the Vienna election campaign, which was drawing to a close, in which everything had gone wrong for them. “That shows where the FPÖ is, that is, on the sidelines,” he told a press conference.

According to Leichtfried, the FPÖ has always acted against the interests of the employees and was the “perfect support for the stirrup” of the head of the ÖVP, Sebastian Kurz, during the turquoise blue coalition. The latter was responsible for the current record unemployment – even now in the coalition with the Greens – he was convinced and mentioned, for example, the reduction of the labor market budget or the introduction of the twelve-hour day.

Therefore, the SPÖ wants to use the special session to request an investment package. Therefore, 40,000 million euros should be used over four years. Leichtfried wants a job program, tax cuts, federal liability for non-compliance for the healthcare system and taxes on millionaires. “That’s what the meeting on Wednesday is really about,” he said.
