Katharina Liensberger waits after the first round of the women’s slalom on Sunday in Zagreb. After a slushy race with poor visibility on a bumpy slope, the Vorarlberg driver is second, 0.32 seconds behind leader Petra Vlhova of Slovakia. In addition to the duo, Semmering winner Michelle Gisin (+0.38) and Mikaela Shiffrin (+0.42) also set themselves apart from the competition. The Chiara Mair zipline is sixth, 1.50 seconds behind.

Long-injured Katharina Gallhuber also showed off one of the strong Austrian slalom women. The 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic bronze medalist drove with the starting No. 19 to ninth place (+1.75) on a rather battered incline.

The successful run was suddenly stopped by Katharina Truppe: The Carinthian went through the eleventh gate of the first round, it was her first failure since slalom at Killington on December 1, 2019.

The second round starts at 4 pm (live ORF 1) under spotlights.
