Itzehoe (Schleswig-Holstein) – Tragic accident in Itzehoe.
Two young men died after being electrocuted in the area of the station.
How could this happen? Out of a group of four youths (16 to 18 years old), two people got into a parked tank car on Saturday night around 10:20 p.m. The two youths got too close to the airlines (passes over the trains). This resulted in a disruptive discharge of 15,000 volts.

The other two young men received medical attention, one suffered a burn on his hand, the second suffered a scare. A spokesman for the federal police said Sunday night.
According to the police spokesman, a large number of rescuers were on duty after the accident. In order for rescuers to work safely, the power to the airline was cut off.
There were emergency services from the Itzehoe Fire Department, four ambulances, two ambulance vehicles, and state and federal police officers. Because there were dangerous goods in the tank car, the Steinburg district fire fighting train was alerted as a precaution.
