After a meager 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina a few days ago, Italy showed a strong reaction in the Nations League. There was a 1-0 away win against the Netherlands.

The winning scorer in Amsterdam was Barella, who headed off an Immobile cross to make it 1-0 in injury time (45 + 1). Shortly before, the talented Roma Zaniolo had to be replaced injured. Another cruciate ligament tear is suspected. The offensive player has just recovered from such an injury.

Italy dictated the game in the Netherlands for much of the 90 minutes and was only under pressure in the final stages. More than a dangerous aerial kick from Depay (he is in discussion with Roma and Barcelona) was not possible. The Azzurri rewarded high-profile counterattack opportunities with Kean, Barella and Jorginho.

Austrians lose to Romania

Austria suffered a bitter defeat at home. Against Romania, team boss Franco Foda’s team lost 3-2. After the break was 1: 1, the Eastern Europeans did the same twice. Legionnaire Onisiwo from Mainz’s goal came too late (81st).
