According to a report by the newspaper “Kronen Zeitung”, FPÖ member Christian Hafenecker was reported on Saturday after a meeting at an inn in Kaumberg (Lilienfeld district) under the Covid-19 Measures Act. The police broke up a meeting of nine people and informed all the participants. The Lower Austrian State Police Department confirmed such an incident to the APA, but it was impossible to say who was involved.
FPÖ Secretary General Michael Schnedlitz spoke on Sunday of an incident related to a “pickup by FPÖ MP Hafenecker at an inn in his home community in Lower Austria”. Hafenecker regrets “not having fully complied with the applicable regulations.” The matter is made for the FPÖ.

The criticism comes from the ÖVP. “The blue crown party is part of a long list of misconduct, all of which testify to the FPÖ’s lack of awareness of the seriousness of the situation,” criticized ÖVP deputy secretary general, health spokeswoman Gaby Schwarz. In recent months, the FPÖ had repeatedly criticized the federal government’s crown measures in an “extremely unconditional way,” Schwarz said. Hafenecker is now apparently translating words into deeds. The violation of the blue MP was “particularly serious” because of his role as a role model, said Schwarz, who demanded consequences from the head of the FPÖ, Norbert Hofer.
