    Netanyahu: Further adjustment possible

Shortly before the start of a second crown blockade in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced a possible further tightening of planned restrictions. Netanyahu said late Thursday that this might be necessary in light of the increasing number of infections.

“I think given the infection situation, we may have no choice but to tighten the restrictions,” Netanyahu said.

The crown lockdown begins in Israel on Friday afternoon, which should last at least three weeks. The move is meant to curb the number of corona cases in the country – daily new infections had recently risen to record levels repeatedly. In the summer, experts criticized, among other things, that the easing had been done prematurely. The opposition in the Mediterranean country harshly criticizes the direction of the government. The crisis has already hit the country’s economy badly.

In Lower Austria, the Zwettl district went from yellow to orange (“high risk”). All other districts were unchanged in their assessment, the commission announced in the evening.

Carinthia’s second-largest city, Villach, will turn yellow at the Corona traffic light on Friday, according to information from the APA. The head of the Carinthia regional press service, Gerd Kurath, confirmed on request on Thursday night that they had received the appropriate signals.

The reasons for the color change are likely to be found in the Villach Commercial Academy group, on the one hand, and in the fact that the number of infections has exceeded the threshold of 25 per 100,000 inhabitants, on the other. The measures that the city will take were still open at the moment.

SPÖ sees “the leadership of spring as a game”

In view of the new measures announced by the government, the SPÖ has criticized “the massive government failures in managing the crown crisis.” “Instead of preparing Austria for the difficult autumn and winter, Chancellor Kurz wasted months of time with press conferences and destroyed the traffic light as a useful instrument,” Vice Club chief Jörg Leichtfried criticized in a broadcast on Thursday.

“The government has played the lead of the spring, the situation is no longer under control and has created chaos and uncertainty, so stricter measures are now necessary,” said Leichtfried. That too is a consequence of the turquoise green neglect and vanity and staging addiction of Chancellor Kurz. The government has toyed with the good situation that Austria had fought for during a tough lockdown: “Italy now has fewer new infections than Austria.”
