The payment of unemployment benefit for the amount of unemployment benefit does not expire at the end of September, but will be extended for another three months.
The federal government will extend the regulation that unemployment assistance is paid in the amount of unemployment benefit due to the current crisis until the end of the year. Labor Minister Christine Aschbacher (ÖVP) announced on Wednesday before the Council of Ministers. In reality, the regulation would have expired on September 30.
Emergency assistance was increased retrospectively in April to the amount of unemployment benefit in mid-March. By ordinance, Aschbacher can extend the period until the end of the year, which he will now use.
SPÖ satisfied with the extension
SPÖ social spokesperson Josef Muchitsch was satisfied on Wednesday by the announced extension of the largest emergency aid until the end of the year. The SPÖ’s appeals had had an impact, Muchitsch said in a broadcast.
The red social spokesperson immediately added another demand: Since the high unemployment will not end in December, an extension is needed not only until the end of the year but until March 31. Therefore, the SPÖ will present a corresponding proposal to the National Council today.
