Visits to the hospital are only possible in three exceptional cases. Ambulances can also be visited only in three exceptional cases.
Due to the increasing number of infections, all Vorarlberg hospitals are now banned from visiting, as in March and April 2020. “People in hospitals should be particularly protected, on the one hand, especially elderly and chronically ill patients, for other side, employees. We have to make sure that the health system continues to function ”, emphasizes State Councilor Martina Rüscher. There are only exceptions to the visitation ban in special cases.
These exceptions have been defined for the following areas
• Visits to the seriously ill or dying (for example, intensive care unit / hospice unit)
• Visits from both parents to your child
• Parents / partners before, during and after delivery
Visits are prohibited to all hospitals in Vorarlberg.
Because hospitals have extensive catchment areas and flows of patients and visitors across the country, the visit ban had to be extended to all hospitals in Vorarlberg, the health adviser announced. Rüscher says: “Due to the high mobility of the population, a differentiated ban on visits would not have the desired effect.”
Rüscher: “Expert recommendation”
Therefore Regional Councilor Rüscher appeals to everyone to understand that this drastic step must be taken again as a precautionary measure. “We are aware that the visitation ban represents a break in social structures and is a particular challenge in difficult times. It was not easy for us to make this decision. However, it is our responsibility to implement the clear recommendation of the experts, ”said Rüscher.
Ambulances still closed
Hospital outpatient clinics remain closed and can only be visited in the following cases:
• with a doctor’s referral and confirmation of medical urgency
• if the hospital has contacted you and an appointment has been made
