SK Sturm Graz are still looking forward to their first win of the current Bundesliga season. After the 1-1 draw against TSV Hartberg in the third round, the Graz team has three points from three games.
It might as well have been two more points if it hadn’t been for the third minute of injury time. Sandro Ingolitsch is not happy with Rep in the penalty area, Tadic sinks the penalty. A 1-0 lead quickly turned into a draw.
“This point feels like a defeat,” Sturm coach Christian Ilzer told “Sky” after the match. “We had the game completely under control in the first half. Then we took the advantage we deserved and after the break we left the game.”

In the second half of the match, Sturm reportedly made the preliminary decision with a goal from Kevin Friesenbichler, but referee Schüttengruber and his team decided to put Bekim Balaj offside, who is said to have hampered goalkeeper Swete. However, the Albanian was not in the forbidden zone.
But it’s not just the missed goal that bothers Christian Ilzer after the game. “The referee was very mean with the standards and with a standard you have to recognize if it is offside or not. It was a clear goal.”
However, the Styrian deliberately holds his team accountable. “We have to take ourselves by the nose and score a goal in the many against situations, then the lid would be on. We really wanted to win the game and we were very close. It hurts that it did not work.”
“Point won”
The mood with Hartberg’s coach Markus Schopp is completely different. The 46-year-old is not entirely satisfied with the performance of his protégés, but he is aware that the match was almost lost.
“If you score the tie in the last second, you can’t be unhappy. We didn’t go in so well and we didn’t defend standard situations well from the start,” analyzes the storm legend in the service of the East Styrians.
“After that we were better in the game and then we got 0-1 on a set piece. The team’s reaction after half time was good, but I expect something like that from the first second. It’s a situation where En Right now, we are mainly dealing with the fact that we are taking too much of our chances. “
However, the bottom line is only the performance that counts. “We stayed in the game until the end and we got the point we deserved.”
“Fight until the last second”
Hartberg striker Dario Tadic struggles with his team’s appearance in the first half, but is even more satisfied with the performance after the break.
“In the first half we didn’t really become convincing. We are currently struggling to develop opportunities in the last third. We have shown that we fight until the last second and we win everything and we will take the point.
The 30-year-old also knows why the Hartbergers aren’t making it as easy this season as they were last time. “Of course the teams are adapting better and better to us and that is why it will be difficult for us. We have to work on that.”
Oststeirer has to start the difficult journey to Salzburg on Sunday, while Sturm receives Altach on the same day.
