In a really successful game, Red Bull Salzburg took the lead with the Graz99ers 5: 2 (2: 1, 2: 0, 1: 1) in the third game of the season.
Both teams have set a high pace from the start, the first goal was scored by the Salzburg guests: comebacker Rauchwald grabs the puck, places it on Baltram and Baltram keeps his nerves and slides to lead (12th).
The 99ers do not let the goal stay on them and get the immediate equalizer through Ograjensek, who is perfectly taken in the slot by Cameranesi and defeats Lamoureux in the “Bulls” goal by the sleeve (13th).
In addition, there is a quick and easy game on both sides, shortly before the first third break, the NHL lender Rasmussen applies an unnecessary penalty in the offensive third, which is quickly punished: Salzburg win, Skille is unlocked in the face left circle and hit the puck with the loose face. At the beginning of the final third, both teams are more cautious, but the first momentum phase brings the 99ers back. Joel Broda leaves the left side circle with a wrist shot and the target twists into the net (45º).
Ultimately, however, the Styrians themselves miss a chance to connect: after surviving a long 3v5 deficit, Rauchwald gets too much slot space and outscores the already defeated Rodrigue (56th) on the scoreboard. 5: 2 ending..
Salzburg also won their third game of the season with the Grazers and celebrated their fifth successive success, which brought them closer to the top with 28 points from just 14 games and sixth place. The Graz99ers have already suffered their sixth suite loss and are in fifth place with 30 points from 19 games.
