In the supplementary game of the 12th round of the ICE Hockey League there is nothing to win for the Black Wings against Fehervar in 1992. Despite a good performance, the Linz team have to admit defeat to the highly efficient Hungarians 1: 4 (1: 2, 0: 2, 0: 0).
The Black Wings enter the game strongly, but as so many times this season, the first goals are scored by the opponent: Caruso immediately walks away with a wrist shot after winning the confrontation and scores the first goal (tenth), only two minutes later Szabo increases the escape (12.).
The Stahlstädter, however, practically return via Pelletier (13th) to the connecting goal: the Canadian keeps his nerves in the groove and overtakes Fehervar goalkeeper Janus in the far corner.
The Black Wings also start the midsection, but the Hungarian guests hit again – after a penalty for Umicevic, Geiger is in the right place in the groove and wets the puck (35./PP), just three minutes later Petan is he takes charge of it with a hammer from the right circle facing the decision (38º).
In the final third, Linz’s team fails again and again to Fehervar’s strong goalkeeper Janus and has to admit defeat 1: 4 in the home lounge.
Fehervar managed to jump to fourth place in the table with the accuracy and 31 points, while the Upper Austria are still at the bottom of the table with only 14 points in 19 games.
