Initial victory for the spusu Vienna Capitals in the ICE Hockey League, and what a victory!
On the second day of the match, the Viennese beat Bratislava Capitals in their first league match by 7-2 (2: 1.3: 0.2: 1) and thus won the “Capital duel of the Caps”.
The Viennese take over the game in Bratislava in the first minutes, after 97 seconds they go ahead with a goal from Campbell, which is ideally prepared by Vause. The objective falls on the power game.
In the 14th minute, the Viennese follow with Nissner, who returns from Sweden. Less than three minutes later, the Bratislava home side cut to 1: 2 (17th) with a counterattack by Hults.
Vause restores the old lead (30th), Campbell extends the lead to 5: 1 with two more goals (35th, 38th). He’s doing a triplet.
At the start of the third stage, the hosts come back a bit thanks to Hults’ second goal, but Richter (48./PP) and Loney (60.) make the final score 7-2.
For both teams it was the first game of the new ICE Hockey League.
KAC overtakes Dornbirn
KAC celebrate their first win of the new season against the Dornbirn Bulldogs. These are defeated 3: 1 (1: 0.0: 1.2: 0).
The red jackets dominate at the start and take the lead in the 10th minute thanks to a power goal from Ticar. In the second section the Bulldogs get stronger, from 15 shots to the KAC Dahm goalkeeper, von Woger crosses the line (25th). The guests only fire three shots on goal in this third.
It takes until the 53rd minute until the next decisive blow is made. Petersen takes the lead after a perfect cross pass. Ticar, who is involved in all of KAC’s goals, made it all clear with an Empty Netter in the 60th minute.
Black Wings also beat Graz
Second win in game two for Black Wings 1992! This time, the Upper Austria beat the Graz99ers 2-0 (0: 0.0: 0.2: 0).
In the first two sections no blows want to fall, both goalkeepers, Kickert (Linz) and Bowns (Graz), simply cannot be beaten. The fans have to wait until minute 48 for the first goal. Umicevic is well organized by Piche and shoots the puck over the line.
Under pressure, Bowns left his area in the 59th minute and Hytönen soon made it clear with a shot on empty goal (60th).
The Linzers take the lead of the table from Salzburg, whose match against HC Bozen had to be postponed due to Corona cases in South Tyrol.
Second defeat of VSV
VSV had to admit defeat to HC Innsbruck after the opening 1: 6 loss to Salzburg on Friday. The Eagles are defeated at home with 3: 4 (0: 3.1: 1.2: 0).
Ciampini surprised the locals early (5th), the Villachers made many mistakes and conceded two more goals in the first section from Sideroff (18th) and Ciampini again (19th).
With 0: 3 behind him, Kammerer triumphed in the 25th minute after a counterattack by Kosmachuk. Innsbruck does not allow much in this phase of the game and scores another goal. Winkler uses the power play (29).
Seven minutes before the end of the game, Gill transforms a cross pass from Fraser into superiority and makes the game more exciting again. The match turned into a thriller a few seconds later, when Kammerer, also in a power play, dropped to 3: 4 (54th).
The VSV returns to throw everything forward, but no longer manages to equalize despite the update.
Haie holds after two games with two wins and second place in the table. The capitals of Vienna are in third place, the last VSV at the moment.
