Ice hockey: international matches extend winning streak in Hungary

The Dornbirn Bulldogs defeated the Black Wings 5: 3 in 1992 and won their second game with the Linzers in five days. The Vorarlbergers thus maintained their connection to the top half of the table and are four points behind fourth place. The Black Wings are still penultimate.

The Caps reached the final third with a 3-1 lead in Hungary, but conceded two quick goals and a draw. In the decision, Marco Richter secured the victory with his penalty and goalkeeper Bernhard Starkbaum, who defused the subsequent attempt by Istvan Bartalis.

Dornbirn ensures clear conditions from the start

Dornbirn had beaten Linz 6-2 on Saturday and this time he was safe too. Vorarlberg quickly took a 3-0 lead in the first of five straight home games (13th) and took a 5-1 lead early in the final third before the guests achieved cosmetic results.

As Dornbirn consolidated his place in the middle of the table, the Linzers even threatened the red lantern. The Black Wings have only had two points in the last nine games and could fall to the bottom of the table if the last VSV wins against Innsbruck on Thursday.
