The Business and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has stopped investigations into FPÖ donations.
As it became known Monday night, the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) has stopped investigations into alleged blue club construction. Former party leader Heinz-Christian Strache had pondered in the Ibiza video how party fees could be smuggled past the audit office in this way.
“There is no real reason for further persecution”
As reported by the APA, this case is no longer being investigated against Strache, former FPÖ club boss Johann Gudenus and former National Council member Markus Tschank. Further proceedings are being carried out against the former party leader, even on suspicion of infidelity, the presumption of innocence is applied. According to a message to the victims’ lawyers, “there is no real reason for further persecution.”
The Vienna prosecution has also dropped the case against Johann Gudenus. After a house search in the course of the casino affair, investigators found cocaine residue on a business card. In addition, an excerpt from the Ibiza video showed the former FPÖ politician in a relevant pose with his hands on his face leaning on a table. According to a decision received by the APA and “Kronen Zeitung”, “there is no real reason to continue prosecuting.” All the details here >>
