A regulation that had been known for a long time caused a stir at the Salzburg State Clinics (SALK). Last week, the clinic’s management informed employees in a circular that employees who were quarantined can continue to work if they are “systemically relevant,” they report. Salzburg News.
According to information from KURIER, there was a similarly formulated reminder at the Tirol Kliniken. SALK spokesman Wolfgang Fürweger confirmed the letter to the KURIER in Salzburg. “Regulation is nothing new, it has been around almost since the beginning of the pandemic,” explains Fürweger.
It also confirms that the regulation came into effect about two weeks ago at the hospital’s children’s hospital. Three employees were quarantined as direct contacts, but were still on duty. Employees were tested daily and wore protective FFP2 masks, according to the clinic.
Labor force protests
There are also protests in the workforce that other than that, corona tests are used too sparingly. “We try everywhere, but we are very restrictive,” says works council member Markus Pitterka at the SN.
According to the clinic, there are rapid tests for systemically important employees. Other than that, too many tests wouldn’t be of much use as they are always just a snapshot, according to the clinic.
