Efforts before reflection: The year of football is turning into a long straight home at a breakneck pace. For Borussia Dortmund it was the first of ten competitive matches in 31 days. The flood of games will gnaw away at the substance, and the necessary rest periods for players will be lacking. So the beneficial home earnings are useful.

No one was younger than him. Moukoko is an exceptional talent with the potential to inspire, that was clear in the five minutes in which he was allowed to participate. No goal, but fast, safe ball and with a big smile on his face.
A trend: In the 02/03 season the average age was 27.1 years, in the 19/20 season it was 24.2. Bellingham, Wirtz, Musiala, Reyna and Moukoko are the names of the league’s descendants gifted with astonishing early maturity.
A promise that has not (yet) been kept: Hertha’s eyes fell on Krzysztof Piatek before the game. After the failure of Jhon Córdoba, the attacker should finally show all his class. Despite a hefty € 23 million transfer fee, Piatek has only been a substitute so far and in the match against BVB the Pole found himself alienated from his new surroundings.
The second half: BVB offered what the inclined viewer can expect from a runner-up. Less than two minutes were played, when Haaland pushed after a cross from Emre Can and the previous ball relay (47th). Another two minutes later, Julian Brandt pushed Haaland, who put the ball precisely in the right corner (49º). After Plattenhardt’s erratic backward pass, Haaland stepped in, circled goalkeeper Schwolow and hit the third (62nd). The decision was left to Guerreiro with a decisive blow (70º). Akanji fouled Matteo Guendouzi (79th), but just 44 seconds after Cunha’s double from the point, Haaland scored the 5: 2 (80th). What is presented in the second half is quickly counted: Berliners acting inconsistently offensively, Dortmunders in a brilliantly playful way.
No love for home: The Capitals, who beat Augsburg after five winless matches before the international break, did not emerge victorious from the field at the Olympic Stadium this season. The specially designed special t-shirts and the homage to the Berlin cityscape didn’t help either.
Uploaded: After Bayern’s stumble against Bremen and Leipzig in Frankfurt, Dortmund are more than ever in a waiting position, and have even made a hole in the table. A measly counter of record champions remains.
