An overtaking maneuver caused the accident, according to Wednesday’s police report. It was around 3pm when a 49-year-old man was in town. Unterrauchendt he wanted to pass the vehicles in front of him. He collided with the oncoming car, being driven by a 59-year-old woman.
His car spun on its own axis from the impact and stopped in the opposite direction of travel. The Freistadt district driver was injured and had to be taken to Freistadt hospital. The 49-year-old from Mhlviertel, who landed in a meadow with his car, was unharmed.
