With his club Southampton, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl also has a great Premier League player on the target list. As host, Southampton came Monday night in round 17 to a 1-0 win over champion and leader Liverpool FC. Goalkeeper Danny Ings’ goal in the second minute marked the second loss for manager Jürgen Klopp’s team this season.

Ings’ seventh goal of the season, a welcome compliment after just 111 seconds, was the forward’s fastest in the first division so far. The 28-year-old joined the “Saints” in 2018 on a loan from Liverpool. The “Reds”, harmless in the first 45 minutes, pushed hard for the change, but were left without a goal for the second time in a row.

Southampton, who have given the Styrian manager a long-term deal, have been in the limelight since the failed start to the season. Two losses were followed by a series of five wins and two draws, then with two successes and three draws only two losses against Manchester’s best teams. United are second as Leader Liverpool with 33 points, but have played one game less. Southampton is sixth, four points behind.
