Vienna (OTS) – The Supervisory Board of the Vienna Insurance Group (Wiener Versicherung Gruppe), chaired by Dr. Günter Geyer appointed Mr. Hartwig Löger as a member of the Board of Directors of the Vienna Insurance Group for the period from 1 January 2021 and June 30, 2023 on December 1, 2020.

Hartwig Löger, born in Styria, started in the insurance industry in the brokerage business as early as 1985. After completing a university course in insurance business at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, he moved to Allianz in Styria as a manager sales in 1989. From 1997 to 2002 he was sales manager for DONAU Insurance. Several management positions in the UNIQA Group followed, most recently as CEO of UNIQA Österreich AG until the end of November 2017. From December 2017 to June 2019, Hartwig Löger was Minister of Finance of the Republic of Austria.
Since July 2019 he has been a managing partner of VIP Consulting Unternehmensberatung, where he works for the VIG Group, also under a consulting contract with Wiener Städtische Versicherungsverein, the main owner of the Vienna Insurance Group. “As part of his consulting contract, Hartwig Löger is already supporting us in our strategic considerations for the next five years. We benefit from his 35 years of experience in the insurance industry and his knowledge of the Central and Eastern European region. I very much welcome the fact that you will be using all your experience for the VIG Group from January 2021.“, Explains VIG CEO Elisabeth Stadler.
