Lewis Hamilton claimed his 90th Grand Prix in an accident-plagued race with three starts under the traffic lights and one behind the safety car at Mugello.

The Formula 1 world champion won the Tuscany GP on Sunday ahead of his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas. With 90 victories, top world championship leader Hamilton is just one short of Michael Schumacher’s record. Behind the two Mercedes drivers, Alex Albon from Thailand took the podium in the premier class for the first time in third place at Red Bull.

In addition to third place in the World Championship, Max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly, Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll were also eliminated in Tuscany, and thus the three drivers who last made the podium at Monza. Overall, in the chaos race, which had to stop twice, only twelve of the 20 drivers crossed the finish line.

For Ferrari, on the other hand, there was another debacle in the big anniversary race on the home track: Charles Leclerc took eighth place in the 1,000th Scuderia Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel did not exceed tenth place.
