On Thursday morning, Lieutenant Governor Manfred Haimbuchner (FP) went to Kepler University Hospital (KUK) for inpatient treatment on the advice of his doctor due to his Covid disease.
His health deteriorated so badly in a few hours that doctors decided to transfer him to the intensive care unit on Thursday night. There, Haimbuchner is artificially ventilated.
“Manfred Haimbuchner’s condition is stable. We hope that he has soon overcome his illness,” says the mayor of FP de Wels, Andreas Rabl. According to the current state of knowledge, the intensive medical treatment will last for several days, according to the state FPÖ. At least yesterday, at the request of the FPÖ, an information block was in force for Kepler University Hospital. Communication should also work in the interests of the Haimbuchner family through Rabl and the head of the FP-Landtag club, Herwig Mahr.

Rabl will take over Haimbuchner’s agendas as leader of the FP state party for the duration of the illness. Regional Councilor Günther Steinkellner will represent Haimbuchner in state government. The state government will make the corresponding decision on Monday. Steinkellner, although vaccinated, tested positive for the coronavirus on Thursday of the previous week, but shows hardly any symptoms. It is assumed that once the quarantine has expired, you will be able to go back to work outside the home.
Get good wishes
Haimbuchner had also tested positive on Thursday of the previous week, initially showing only mild symptoms. But these got worse, the fever remained constantly high. “On Thursday morning we spoke on the phone. He told me he was going to the hospital to be safe,” said FP club boss Mahr.
Well-being wishes for Haimbuchner came from FP federal party leader Norbert Hofer and FP National Council club leader Herbert Kickl, among others. Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) also wished Manfred Haimbuchner “a speedy and complete recovery and his family great strength and confidence.” (wb)
Corona cases
In addition to Manfred Haimbuchner, State Councilor Günther Steinkellner, Speaker of the Second State Parliament, Adalbert Cramer, and State Member of Parliament Sabine Binder are currently crown-positive in the State FP. There were also corona infections in the other parliamentary groups: SP Regional Councilor Birgit Gerstorfer and Green Regional Councilor Stefan Kaineder also had Covid disease, as did Vice President Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer’s regional manager.
