According to an online survey, the population is satisfied with the way the armed forces carried out the massive tests. Both the commitment and the organization received a positive evaluation.

2,611 people participated in the survey, and 61 percent of them had previously visited a test street in Vienna.

89 percent of those surveyed said they fully support the use of the military. Almost all survey participants found the organization of the mass testing extremely positive.

Population satisfied with the implementation of massive tests by the army

94 percent said the organization was “very good” and five percent said it was “good.” Almost all respondents (98 percent) were also satisfied with the treatment of members of the armed forces.

The implementation of the massive tests is also likely to have improved the image of the armed forces; at least more than six in ten respondents said that. Thirty percent said their personal impression of the military had “improved a lot” and 33 percent said it had “improved a little.”

Viennese tend to be negative about the military

Overall, around one in ten said they viewed the armed forces quite negatively, almost half said they were “very positive” and 38 percent “fairly positive.” In Vienna, ten percent had the highest number of respondents who viewed the armed forces negatively, while in Carinthia it was only three percent. The 18 to 29 age group was more critical, here 18 percent stated that they had a “rather” or “very negative” attitude.

The armed forces had invited a poster feedback survey on all test streets in Austria. According to information provided by the general population, teaching personnel (27 percent), emergency services (five percent) and kindergarten teachers (four percent) also participated.
