In the ICE Hockey League, only half of the regular season has been played, and four of the eleven clubs have already admitted planning incorrectly. After Dan Ceman (formerly VSV), Pierre Beaulieu (Linz), Rostislav Cada (Bratislava), Doug Mason is the fourth coach this season who has had to leave his position prematurely.
The 65-year-old had been with the Grazers for four years and two weeks and was primarily responsible for the positive development of the 99ers. But recently there were 11 losses in 12 games and coach Bernd Vollmann was forced to act despite Corona’s situation: “We still have a chance to be in the top 5 and a direct entry into the play-offs.”
His successor is former assistant coach Jens Gustafsson, and Patrick Harand from the youth department will be raised as an assistant coach. Gustafsson was the head coach of Frölunda (Under 20) in the youth area and two years as head coach at Borås in the Swedish second division.
