Due to the new epidemiological situation, the federal government has decided to issue only partial travel advisories for individual Balkan countries.
The new travel advisories concern the two countries Croatia and Bulgaria. As of Saturday, October 17, travel advisories will no longer apply to these Balkan countries for the entire country, but only for particularly high-risk regions.
Foreign Minister Schallenberg justified the decision as follows: “We have always said that we will keep travel warnings as short as possible, but for as long as necessary. Epidemiological developments in Croatia and Bulgaria mean that now too we are in these countries to make a regionalization and thus reduce the travel restrictions for people in Austria. However, the clear recommendation is still valid to give up trips that are not absolutely necessary. “
