Jean-Baptiste Grange will end his sports career. The French slalom specialist, who celebrated numerous successes and suffered serious injuries, announced this Friday.

With a long message on social networks, accompanied by a video, Grange says goodbye to the alpine skiing circus. The 36-year-old will compete in Kranjska Gora and Lenzerheide (the last race will take place on March 21) and then finish his career.

Grange has celebrated eight World Cup slalom victories in her career. Also, he was once at the top of the super combination, which means a total of nine World Cup victories.

Two world championships, one crystal ball

Also at the world championships Grange cleared regularly. In 2007 he won his first World Championship medal (bronze) at Aare. Four years later, the first world slalom title followed, another four years later, Grange was crowned world slalom champion again at Beaver Creek. In 2009 he also won the crystal ball slalom. In his long career, the Frenchman has had to deal with serious injuries time and time again.
