Germany declares that all Austrian federal states are corona risk areas, with the exception of Carinthia. The Netherlands has also extended its travel advisory.
The German Robert Koch Institute published the new list of risk areas on Thursday after some technical problems. All Austrian federal states, with the exception of Carinthia, have been officially declared a risk zone on the website. The news had already been known.
Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Salzburg, Styria and Burgenland are now also considered risk areas. The associated travel advisory from the Federal Foreign Office should apply from midnight on Saturday.
More recently, Vienna, Vorarlberg and Tyrol were already considered risk areas, with the exception of the exclaves Mittelberg / Kleinwalsertal (Vorarlberg) and Jungholz (Tyrol).
The Netherlands also extends travel advisory for Austria
The Netherlands have also extended their travel advisory for Austria. Since Wednesday, an “orange” travel advisory has been in effect for the federal states of Upper Austria and Salzburg, as announced by the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
This means that only the federal states of Carinthia, Styria and Burgenland are in “yellow” for Dutch tourists. Eastern Tyrol and the Hinterriß and Jungholz enclaves, as well as Kleinwalsertal / Mittelberg, continue to be considered “yellow”.
A ten-day home quarantine is mandatory when entering or returning from “Orange” classified areas. Even a negative PCR test before or after arrival in the Netherlands does not nullify this determination. Entrance to the “yellow” areas is possible without restrictions. Also not affected by the quarantine obligation are people who only travel through Vienna, Salzburg, Linz and Innsbruck airports, but have not stayed in Vienna or the aforementioned federal states. Travelers in transit are also exempt from the quarantine obligation, but a refueling stop is considered a stay in the risk area.
