Elaborate rowing boat rescue
Rescuing the rowboat in the Wesenauer bathing area required a lot of skill and technique on the part of the volunteers during two dives: the approximately 3.5m long plastic boat, which was probably originally used by fishermen, was one depth of 28 meters and was literally lifted with combined forces was full of mud and therefore heavy. The divers used two lever balloons and long ropes and had to cope with the strong turbidity of the water due to the choppy lake bed. The dive to spot and anchor the ship only lasted 45 minutes, lifting and transporting ashore took another 30 minutes.
Garden furniture, car tires and snow removal equipment in Fuschlsee
The group of divers that cleared the Fuschlsee along the lake promenade in the local area was underway at a depth of up to 15 meters, bringing all kinds of curios to the surface: shell-covered garden furniture and heavy umbrellas, a car tire and a snow removal device made of metal. In addition, an umbrella, a wooden barrel, bottles, plastic waste, plastic nets and steel belts were taken out of the lake.
Disposal of the rescued rowboat and collected garbage is done by the Federal Forests, it is done at the waste collection center in Fuschl. A hotelier has already taken the rubbish that had accumulated there himself.
The lake cleaning campaigns are an initiative of the Austrian Federal Forests in cooperation with local diving clubs, water rescue and the volunteer fire department.
