The US authorities have foiled a plan to overthrow the Michigan state government and kidnap the governor.
According to the FBI, 13 men are said to have planned the kidnapping of the Governor of the US state of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer. The suspects are apparently crown terrorists who wanted to bring the governor to justice for “treason.” The group believed that the strict exit restrictions imposed by the governor went against the United States Constitution.
What exactly were the crown terrorists doing?
Federal charges were brought against six men: five from Michigan and one from Delaware. Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, Brandon Casert and Ty Garbin are charged with plotting the kidnapping. State authorities are investigating seven men for terrorism and gang membership.
According to a published court document, the group had wanted to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer since at least the summer before the November 3 US election. Among other things, they are said to have observed your vacation home for this purpose.
As “The Detroit News” reports, the suspects are also said to have sought helpers for their plan, in which they encouraged neighbors to join them and “spread the word.”
How did the FBI find you?
Authorities discovered the operation of the “violent extremists” – as prosecutor Andrew Birge called them – with the help of informants, undercover agents and secret recordings of conversations. Earlier this year, the FBI learned on social media that a group of people, including two of those arrested, were discussing the “violent overthrow of certain government and police components.”
Who are the Wolverine Watchmen?
To gain support for his efforts, one of the suspects approached a Michigan-based militia called the Wolverine Watchmen. In a phone call in mid-June, he is said to have said he needed 200 men to storm the Capitol in the capital Lansing and take hostages, including the governor.
The same suspect is said to have said during an observation of the governor’s vacation home in September: “She loves the power she has.” Whitmer has “uncontrolled power.”
The militia reportedly conducted weapons training and attempted to make bombs in several states, the FBI said. According to their own statements, the authority videotaped the group’s training. According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, seven Wolverine Watchmen are said to have planned to start a civil war in the United States.

Gretchen Whitmer took several steps during the Corona crisis to prevent the virus from spreading. For several weeks in a row, protesters marched in front of the Capitol and accused the Democratic governor of “tyranny.”
